🏝️After successfully crossing the Malaka Strait, we celebrated reaching Indonesia and were eager to anchor near the first surf break, fulfilling our dream of surfing in the Indian Ocean.

How did you prepare for the sailing adventure?

—Before setting off, we gained basic sailing skills and knowledge from experienced sailors. We also underwent preparations such as repairing the boat, stocking provisions, and equipping ourselves with essential tools and supplies.

What challenges did you face during the journey?

—We encountered challenges such as strong squalls, navigating through busy shipping lanes, engine malfunctions, and having limited provisions. However, with the help of experienced crew members and our determination, we overcame these obstacles.

Did you encounter any dangers or pirates?

—Although the Malaka Strait has a reputation for pirate activity, we didn't encounter any. We maintained a vigilant watch, had safety measures in place, and had friendly interactions with local fishermen.

What was the highlight of the journey?

—The highlight was finally reaching Indonesia, raising the Indonesian flag, and being close to the surf breaks. It was a moment of accomplishment and excitement, as we were about to fulfill our dream of surfing in the Indian Ocean.

—We learned valuable sailing skills, gained a deeper appreciation for the ocean and its challenges, and realized the importance of adaptability and teamwork. It was an enriching experience that tested our limits and fueled our love for the sea.
