Why did you choose to build an outdoor quail aviary instead of using wire cages?
—We wanted to provide the quail with fresh air and more space to move around. The outdoor aviary allows them to have a healthier and more natural living environment.
What materials did you use to construct the aviary?
—We used cattle panels and treated wood to build the structure. We also covered it with half-inch hardware cloth and an extra heavy-duty tarp for added protection.
Why did you choose a solid surface instead of dirt for the quail to live on?
—By elevating the quail off the ground, we prevent them from living in dirt and keep their living area cleaner. It also helps to ensure that the aviary doesn't become excessively wet.
How do you clean the aviary?
—The door on the front of the aviary allows easy access for cleaning. We simply sweep or shovel any debris out through the door.
Does the aviary provide enough shade and protection for the quail?
—Yes, we have covered the aviary with an extra heavy-duty tarp, which provides shade and protection from the elements. The quail have a comfortable and secure living environment.
